Terms of Service
Last updated 25 July 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Normis. They set out the rules for using our service. Please read them. By creating an account or using Normis, you accept these terms. If you are accepting on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to bind that organisation, and "you" means that organisation.
1. Who we are
Normis is operated by [registered company name], a company registered in Ireland under number [company registration number], registered office [registered address] ("Normis", "we", "us"). You can reach us at hello@normis.app.
2. What Normis is, and what it is not
Normis is a software tool that helps you organise and evidence your compliance with the EU AI Act. It includes things like an AI register, a guided risk classifier, a policy builder, staff sign-off and an evidence pack export.
Normis does not provide legal advice and is not a substitute for it. We are a software company, not a law firm. Our classifications, templates, suggested wording and article references are there to help you think and to organise your own records. They are general information, not advice on your specific situation. You decide and confirm your own classifications and policies, and you remain responsible for your organisation's compliance. For advice on your legal obligations, consult a qualified professional.
3. Accounts
You must give accurate information and keep your account details up to date. Normis uses passwordless sign-in, so you are responsible for the email account linked to your Normis account and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us promptly at hello@normis.app if you think someone has gained access without permission. Normis is for business use by people aged 16 or over.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law, or infringe anyone else's rights, using Normis;
- upload content you have no right to upload, or that is harmful or malicious;
- attempt to access another organisation's data, or probe, scan or breach our security;
- disrupt the service, or use it to build a competing product, or resell it without our agreement;
- misrepresent Normis output as legal advice or as a guarantee of compliance.
5. Your content and data
You keep all rights in the content and data you put into Normis (" Your Content"). You grant us the limited licence needed to host, process and display Your Content so we can provide the service. You are responsible for Your Content and for having the right to use it. Where Your Content includes personal data, you are the controller and we act as your processor. Our Data Processing Terms apply to that processing and form part of this agreement: they are the written contract required by Article 28 of the GDPR, so accepting these terms puts that contract in place without anything further to sign. Our Privacy Policy explains the personal data we handle in our own right.
6. Our intellectual property
We and our licensors own Normis itself: the software, design, templates, classification content and brand. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use Normis for your own business while these terms are in force. We welcome feedback, and may use it to improve the service without obligation to you.
7. Plans, fees and payment
Some features are free and others require a paid plan. Where a paid plan applies, we currently invoice organisations directly, and payment is due as stated on the invoice. Fees exclude any taxes, which you are responsible for. We may change our prices or plans, and will give reasonable notice of changes that affect a plan you are paying for.
8. Availability
We work to keep Normis available and reliable, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free. We may update, change or withdraw features, and carry out maintenance. We will try to limit disruption and to give notice of significant changes where we reasonably can.
9. Disclaimers
Except as expressly stated, Normis is provided "as is" and "as available", and we make no warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including that the service will meet your requirements or that any output is accurate, complete or sufficient for compliance. Nothing in these terms excludes warranties or rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
10. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that:
- we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, or for any regulatory fine or penalty imposed on you;
- our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with these terms is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or 100 euros.
Because Normis is a tool and not legal advice (see section 2), your compliance decisions and their consequences remain yours.
11. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Normis and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if required by law, or if continuing would create a security or legal risk. When your account ends, your right to use the service stops. You can ask us to export or delete Your Content as described in our Data Processing Terms, subject to records we must keep.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will change the date at the top and, for significant changes, give reasonable notice. If you keep using Normis after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the courts of Ireland have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
14. General
These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Data Processing Terms, are the whole agreement between us about Normis. If part of them is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms, for example as part of a reorganisation, without affecting your rights. A delay in enforcing these terms is not a waiver of them.
